Reporting to the Head of Commissioning & Procurement (HCP) the Procurement Officer will play a key role in procuring high quality and cost efficient products and services. The procurement officer will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating and developing new contracts and objectively measuring the performance of suppliers.

Processing procurement tender related documents including issuing of tender documents (EOI, PQQ, ITT) and support with evaluation of proposals, awards and contracts.
Reviewing and analysing suppliers, supply and price options, maximising value for money.
Developing plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies
Negotiating the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
Identify cost savings including environmental/sustainability energy and waste cost savings
Contributing to the ongoing development of the commissioning and procurement strategy, processes, and policies.
Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers including conducting due diligence process for suppliers.
Collating supplier data and preparing costs analyses and reports.
Managing and maintaining approved supplier register, ensuring it is kept up to date and all information held is correct and accurate

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy and systems.
Experience of using Purchase to Pay systems
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft office packages and databases.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Supplier relationship Management experience
Internal Stakeholder Management experience
Ability to negotiate, establish and administer contracts
Ability to analyse problems and strategise for better solutions
Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) qualified or minimum Level 5 CIPS qualification.
