£39,152 - £42,380 per annum (pro rata)
Plus, a retention payment of up to £3,500 per year (pro rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Council (SCC) Permanence Support Team as a Consultant Social Worker, working from Endeavour House, Ipswich.

Your role and responsibilities
You will:
be flexible and have a passion to further build and develop on our success is key in supporting a strong ethos of performance and development across the service
hold overall managerial responsibility and develop the service ensuring successful delivery of the mobilization and implementation plans of the project of Modernising Adoption. This involves developing and embedding effective and robust operational pathways, and feeding this up to your line manager
be responsible and lead the day-to-day management and line management to staff within the project
be central to collaborative working with our colleagues across CYPS, working with and supporting all through change
ensure effective and appropriate deployment of resources using the demand and capacity methodology as appropriate
ensure the “voice” of the child is central to developing the service
ensure the effective evaluation of the service with providing expected activity reporting, outcome data and written reports as required
be responsible and ensure the effective co-ordination of a range of operational processes within the team such as referral and case allocation, caseload management regular review and proactive monitoring of interventions including risk assessment and safety planning.
You will need a relevant social work qualification and Social Work England registration is essential.
The team
provides a county wider service to meet the needs of children
works directly with children that have been adopted, under a special guardianship order, permeant fostering and link care. This role also works closely with the stage 2 adoption assessment team as they link and match children for adoption

Travelling requirements for your role
This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role, you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
