The R2R team is responsible for delivering transactional accounting processes and financial controls in a complete, accurate and timely manner. As a Management Accountant – Team Leader , you will have a varied role across the month but with a particular focus on the delivery of a high-quality month-end close. This includes assisting in the preparation of ASDA''s monthly financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, group accounting policies and procedures.
You will lead and develop your team of up to 4 Qual & Part Quals through a variety of responsibilities throughout the month, (No one day is the same) supporting key business activities (balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings and validating supplier income)
You will drive continuous improvement throughout your area and the wider business; you will review and, where necessary, re-engineer processes to ensure compliance with accounting policies and to meet the needs of your customers.
Also, identify and lead on opportunities where technology can deliver process efficiency and improve the quality of the service that your team provides.
You will be a newly qualified/part qualified accountant, (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
You will be able to effectively prioritise your workload to meet deadlines, particularly over the month-end close
You will have a logical approach to managing data and continuous improvement, with an understanding of the relevant technologies (Alteryx/SAP experience advantageous)
You will be confident and pro-active, able to balance strong customer focus with the need to challenge
