We are delighted to be working with a growing organisation in South Ockendon who are looking for an Assistant Accountant/ Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role could suit an established Management Accountant or somebody looking to step up.
This role will be to assist the financial controller to ensure accurate reporting, support and develop the accounts assistants, ensure branch managers are effectively trained to ensure financial risk is reduced and profit is maximised.
Overall primary responsibilities
To ensure statutory compliance in all accounting
To prepare daily cashflow forecast
To lead of stock control
Business partnering to all branch managers, ensuring operational requirements are effectively balanced with commercial requirements
Timely preparation of robust financial information, including relevant KPI
Coaching/training of both financial and non financial colleagues
To ensure rigorous controls are in place to protect the business from risk
Duties and Tasks
Preparation of monthly internal management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary
Inter company reconciliation
Responsibility for all balance sheet recs
Day to day contact for statutory audit
Assist in preparation of annual budget
Assist in preparation of monthly forecast
Preparation of daily cashflow forecasting
Production of financial KPI reporting and analysis
Support in the development and roll out of finance policies across group
Support in the development and establishment of internal controls (financial)
Lead the review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Liaising with/training of budget holders
To provide insightful analysis into the financial position of the company
To ensure efficiency of processes within Head Office and branch
To coach all staff to ensure solid financial understanding across the business
To coach and develop Accounts assistants
Any other duties as requested

Person specification
Part qualified chartered accountant (AAT finalist, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
IT literate, with excellent excel skills due to large volumes of data
Strong communication and excellent customer service skills
Strong leadership skills
Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues
Professional, tactful and friendly attitude
Excellent team working skills
Commitment to continuing professional development and training
This role will be fuly office based, 9-5.30 although times can be flexible to a degree. Great workng envrironment and a supportive culture.
