This exciting job role is based in modern offices at my Client's HQ in Reading, with parking, study support and hybrid working.



Due to growth they are seeking a Junior Management Accountant to join the UK Group Finance team on a permanent basis.



You will be working within a busy, fast paced Group Finance function and be responsible key tasks within the Group Budgeting and forecasting processes and servicing its stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate ambition, drive, excellent numerical capability, good autonomy and communications skills in order to develop and a desire to learn complex processes on the job.

Job Purpose:


Business partnering with assigned Heads of Department (HoD), providing Financial information and Management information to support them in understanding and managing their overhead costs, helping them drive more efficient ways to deliver business objectives.
Supporting the Financial Accounting Manager and line manager with:
Financial performance management and review
Monitoring of the control environment for the business
Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and controls framework.




Key responsibilities:
Responsible for producing management accounts, forecasts and budgets for each of the Business Functions assigned to role.


Month end management accounts
With support from line manager, ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly management accounts in line with deadlines ensuring accuracy, integrity, consistency.
Prepare and present the review pack to the relevant HoD including analysis of staff cost by role and non-staff cost by category
Answer any questions the HoD has and where appropriate challenge requested adjustments if outside of good practice / Group policy
Complete all necessary follow ups based on HoD review
Identify, highlight and minimise key business risks, by understanding balance sheet position
Ensure appropriate use of GL accounts and Group accounting policies
Prepare and present the periodic results for each business unit
Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations with justification for balances aligned with policy
Resolve any required adjustments identified in a timely fashion
Support the HoD by preparing analysis and review files to present proposed budget to Senior leadership, including key assumptions, benefits cases and drivers of variance to comparative periods
Prepare and post relevant recharges to the business as developed in accordance with Group recharges policy.
Prepare reports each month to show the status of cost recovery and potential risks/opportunities.


The Candidate:


1-5 years experience within a finance team role (AP / AR / GL / Accounts Assistance)
Forecasting & Budgeting experience (desirable but not essential)
Excellent Excel & other Microsoft office skills
Team Player who is happy to work within a Team and add value during busy periods
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Systems (desirable but not essential): Oracle, JD Edwards Enterprise, PowerBI
Accounting qualification or studies are not essential, but expectation is to continue or re-commence studies
