A highly successful international group have an opportunity for a Group Accountant to join their team. This is a newly created role due to growth and expansion, reporting to the Group Reporting Manager and you will be a part of the continuing success of the group reporting team. As Group Accountant your remit will include consolidated Board Reports, management accounts and other financial reporting.
Salary £50,000 to £55,000 + Benefits
As Group Accountant your key responsibilities will include:
Producing monthly Divisional and Group Board Reports, incorporating P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Headcount with variance to budget and prior year, KPI trends and ratio analysis.
Additional reporting on cash and working capital performance, investment performance appraisals, financing flows and other shareholder information
There is a focus on providing insight and financial analysis of performance and not just the numbers and a mandate to provide support and challenge to divisional finance teams.
We focus on the presentation of our reports to ensure message are clearly delivered and have access to systems development teams to develop and enhance our financial reporting tools.
We are available to provide ad-hoc financial analysis when requested by the Senior Management team
Additional areas of focus also include:
Appraising performance of new business initiatives and investments
Supporting the integration of acquisitions and disposals when relevant
Maintenance of Chart of Account and KPI definitions
Monitoring of KPIs across the different divisions of the Group
Provide support to the year end and audit processes.
To be successful as Group Accountant you will have the following skills and experience:
Qualified accountant with industry experience at Group level and exposure to month-end reporting cycles
Excellent Excel skills
Excellent communication & reporting skills
Experience in Cognos applications (Controller and TM1), or other BI reporting tools, preferable but not essential.
Attention to detail with commitment to delivering a high quality professional output
Hands-on approach to problem solving with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines
Commercial outlook with a demonstrable approach to adding value to the business
