For our aspirations to be met, we want to recruit a talented strength and conditioning coach to join our world-class sports department for the academic year 2021-22.Uppingham School has a strong sporting tradition, with a variety of sports available to our pupils. We have many pupils participating in sport at a county, regional, academy and national level, with specialist support, advice and guidance being pivotal to ensure they reach their athletic potential. The Assistant Athletic Development Coach will assist the Director of Sport in offering this to our aspirational athletes through our Champions' Programme.The Assistant Athletic Development Coach will work to increase the provision of our current athletic developmentprogramme, teaching the value of strength and conditioning in a way that is both inspiring and engaging. This role will also involve assisting and supporting the Head of Athletic Development and the Head of Physical Education in the delivery and implementation of the physical education curriculum for pupils in the Fourth Form (Year 9).Alongside their coaching responsibilities, the Assistant Athletic Development Coach will be expected to play a full part in this seven-day-a-week boarding school. This will include involvement in the School's exceptionally varied co-curricular programme, as well as being attached as a tutor to one of the School's fifteen boarding houses.Some classroom teaching may be offered if appropriate, depending on the subject and experience of the person appointed. The Assistant Athletic Development Coach will assist with PE lessons, private study supervisions and exam invigilation.This role will include a budget for CPD, and the successful applicant with be expected to take full advantage of this as they continue to learn and grow.Accommodation is available.The ideal candidate will require considerable sporting pedigree with experience of coaching youth athletes.In return, Uppingham offers a community that values people.
