Oscar Wilde.Sheridan Maine is currently working in collaboration with a leading organisation based across the South Coast, who are seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to play an integral part in a dynamic and progressive organisation. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of external regulatory reporting for the Group including the following key areas:• Preparation of the statutory accounts for the Group and the Group’s subsidiary companies• Assisting with the preparation of the groups consolidated accounts, for both management and statutory accounts• Supporting the wider business with any technical accounting issues• Assist with the modelling of new business opportunities• Responsible for coordination and delivery of regulatory financial reporting, including the quarterly returns and submission of statutory accounts• Responsible for assisting the preparation of all the group’s entity and preparation of the consolidated VAT returns, including submission, payments and handling queries• Be the key contact for VAT with HMRC and external consultants• Manage external reporting task as required• Coordinate the monthly journal review process across all finance divisions• Working closely with the group finance team to ensure continuous improvement across finance and assist with any process improvement implementationsKey skills and attributes required of the Financial Accountant include:• The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)• At least 3 years post qualified management accounts and/or financial accounts experience• A sound working knowledge of consolidation accounting is essential along with strong technical experience• Other desirable areas of expertise include FRS102, fixed asset accounting and joint venturesCompetitive starting salary and benefits are on offer to the successful candidate.
