Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled part-time Finance Officer to provide financial support to the Economy and Neighbourhood Directorates for one of our local government clients based in Rochdale.

The Finance Officer will take responsibility for the delivery of accurate and robust financial information to support statutory and business critical financial functions (including Budget Setting, Budget Monitoring, Closure of Accounts and input into key Service developments) to strict deadlines.

They will ensure that administration and control arrangements are implemented to so that financial systems are effective and robust; provide support to enable effective, informed decision making through scrutiny/review of financial information and provision of support to the Economy and Neighbourhood Directorates.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience providing support within a finance function, preferably within local government
  • Demonstrable experience assisting in preparation of financial information and statements.
  • Experience of staff management
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience of financial software packages and systems

This position is for 4 days per week
