Let's give you a quick sneak peek into the life of a Factory & Commercial Operations Manager Our Frozen Foods' manufacturing business is based in Newton Heath, Manchester. We are looking for a professional Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee our organization’s day to day operations with a broad food processing manufacturing operations background. The person will be planning, directing and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Things you will be doing as Factory & Commercial Operations Manager Direct accountability for manufacturing KPIs and all factory operations including production, packaging, food safety, health and safety, hygiene, planning, and scheduling Ensuring that products are produced efficiently and that they are produced on time and to the satisfaction of the customers Monitoring the production processes and ensuring that they are adequate to meet the production schedule Making recommendations to the CEO and Continuous Improvement Manager for improvements in working practices and capital expenditures within the areas Estimate future capacity Assisting the CEO to develop and implement short-term and long-term manufacturing strategies Ensuring all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way Improving operational management systems, processes and best practices Purchasing material, planning inventory and overseeing warehousing efficiency Helping the organization’s processes to remain legally compliant Dealing with banks for all banking needs Importing and distributing branded goods Formulating strategic and operational objectives Examining financial data and analyzing it to improve profitability Managing product costing, budgets and forecasts Performing quality controls and monitoring production KPIs Familiarity with business and financial principles Supporting sales process and all services/purchases contract negotiations Monitoring cash & stock movements including carrying out audits including cash & stock checks Monitoring client invoicing process and ensuring prompt payments Ensuring that all employees are working safely and following all safety rules Monitoring and coaching performance of employees and positively managing poor performers Involvement in setting objectives and standards for all employees and representation in hiring activities What we are looking for in you? Relevant experience of 5-8 years within food manufacturing A minimum of Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Operations Management or related field Experience of working with Food Safety Standards such as BRC and knowledge of HACCP systems is required Good command on Information Technology Good communication skills Strategic thinking and problem solving approach Enthusiasm and energy to drive results What do you get?
