If you have a passion for good communication, collaboration, and inquisitiveness please read on! The Balancing Programme is accountable for the ongoing delivery of Energy Balancing Capabilities into the Electricity Network Control Centre, and your role is critical to facilitate the strategic priorities and decisions to optimise the Programme. As the Strategy and Engagement Manager you will inform and guide this transformation. You’ll be the essential gateway between, the Balancing Programme and ESO departments such as Markets and Networks.
You will engage with the industry and across the ESO which will be key to ensure all customers and stakeholders are informed, you can input and influence the process and understand how they are impacted from priority decisions made. As part of the Balancing Programme leadership team within the ESO you will take ownership of strategy and engagement activity ensuring this strategy is signed on to by the Balancing Programme Executive Steering Committee and ESO Executive.
* Act as the Balancing Programme Point of Contact/gateway for requests from ESO departments/industry for new capabilities
* Ensure a structured approach to change request process and proportionate level of impact assessments have been undertaken
* Own the Balancing Programme roadmap by implementing a robust strategy and underlying process which drives effective prioritisation of requests for development to existing balancing capabilities
* Ensure alignment of the Balancing Programme strategy with ESO strategy, ESO business plan and roadmaps such as markets and transparency roadmaps.
* Ownership of quarterly external engagement, updating on the Balancing Programme strategic plan and fostering world leading collaboration across a balanced cross section of industry
* Working alongside the Governance & Insights Manager to agree gaps in markets and networks understanding required to facilitate a robust strategy
You will be an expert in engaging at all levels of the organisation and with external customers. A superior communicator with the ability to navigate a complex organisation and generate first-class ideas and plans, along with an understanding of the UK electricity market, current and future issues impacting the industry. You must have experience in project delivery as well as relevant experience in business or strategy roles.

What's In It For You
This role offers a competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000 dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 15%.
