Cloud SRE Engineers work in small, cross functional agile teams and are involved in all technical activities related to the continuous agile delivery of working services. This includes every technical activity across development, testing and operations.
Cloud SRE SME are expected to have developed a deep understanding across the development cycle, being able contribute meaningfully to the full range of activities involved in the continuous delivery of a working service.
Our Engineers are expected to continuously drive improvements in technical and agile practices in addition to day-to-day delivery responsibilities. They are expected to be a part of a mobile, agile workforce, enhancing their skills and chosen specialisms by contributing to this variety of programmes, business areas and technologies throughout their career.
The difference you'll make.
Advocating and actively practicing of the Production management techniques and philosophy laid out in the SRE Handbook
Managing AWS Production Environments and applying SRE practices
Coaching, mentoring and encouraging the development of best practice
Establishing SLOs and metrics to measure and track service levels for Cloud based deployments at an experienced level.
Implementing automated acceptance testing criteria at an experienced level
Participating in the Agile DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with focus on frequent production releases
What you'll bring.
Considerable and proven track record and demonstrable experience working on Cloud technologies and/or SRE role
Expert knowledge with AWS services (EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, Load balancers etc.) and well versed with hands on experience in Terraform
It would also be nice for you to have.
Hands on experience with monitoring and observability, best practices
Hands on experience in including GitHub action workflows
Experience with Kubernetes, Helm chart / Gitops
Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana
What else you need to know.
We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
This role is currently home based with an expectation to travel very occasionally into the Milton Keynes office when required.
This is a permanent position.
