This fast-paced and stretching role is based in our Workplace Computing team which is part of our Tech Services division.
Tech Services is the backbone of DWP Digital. We deliver secure, effective and cost-efficient digital infrastructure services and run the live IT operations behind digital innovation for 110,000 colleagues and around 22 million users.
As our Senior IT Asset Manager, you will have responsibility and accountability for a team of up to 4 Asset Managers responsible for tracking 200,000 computer devices from procurement until end of life. This is a vital role enabling best outcomes for our colleagues and ultimately, the taxpayer.
You will help develop asset management strategies, policies, standards, plans, procedures and guidelines. You'll also take on corrective actions to resolve non-compliance or breaches to policy which affect licence agreements.
You'll ensure the integrity and accuracy of IT assets and data whilst also supporting our adoption of new technology - making use of automation to increase process efficiency and accuracy.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
Highly competent using excel at an Expert level user to manipulate and interrogate significant amounts data and an ability to deconstruct information into smaller categories to draw sound conclusions
Good knowledge of using ServiceNow or similar system
Experience of reporting and presenting information and analysis to senior management or stakeholders
Proven ability to build strong relationships, communicate and work with people at all levels
Proven track record of successful supplier management - engagement, performance review, reporting, decision making, examples of driving improvements
Previous experience of IT Service Management
