Do you enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of others? Help Me Stop is a growing leading resource for outpatient drug and alcohol treatment and has just opened a new service in Winchester, alongside our 2 services in London.

As we grow, we have opportunities for experienced addictions therapists to work part time (Wednesdays and Fridays) in Winchester, variable days in London and come onto our Bank. We are looking for people who have worked as a psychotherapist in drug and alcohol services before, can demonstrate common sense, have a can do attitude, are creative and flexible/adaptable as well as passionate about providing high quality client care in an outpatient setting. Working with a small, dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to work with groups and individuals as part of a timetabled daily day programme as well as our family programme.

We are particularly interested in therapists that are active in their own 12 step recovery. We are open to staff that can work part time and also come onto our Bank.

For those applying for Bank work, the nature of Bank work is such that the hours of work will be at the Company's discretion and will depend on the needs of the business. The Company does not guarantee to provide any minimum amount of work in any given week or month of the year. Bank staff also have the right to decline any hours offered.

Bank rates of pay are at £20 per hour and part-time rates of pay are £30,000 pa (pro rata).

Job Summary

To provide counselling and support in relation to addictions and other identified issues and to be prepared to provide these both face to face and online if required
To contribute to assessments of clients within agreed timescales.
To deliver a structured therapeutic support programme through group-work sessions and one to one interventions.
To contribute to regular reviews of clients with other relevant agencies
To provide support, counselling and education to individuals and their families about addictions and other agreed identified issuing recognised theoretical models.
To help individuals address their addictions and other agreed identified issues through an agreed treatment/care plan
To maintain records of the client attendance and participation in the group programme
To explore, implement and supervise a range of approaches, activities and exercises, which are designed to promote health and support individuals recovery
To utilise recording and statistical systems to collect and collate data and to ensure that all administration, case recording, written reports etc. are maintained to the required standards.
To complete individual care plans
To review care plans and produce discharge and aftercare plans
To utilise a flexible approach and where required participate in activities and tasks which directly respond to client needs.
To ensure that all therapeutic activities and assignments are completed when due.
To maintain a safe and welcoming environment ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to.
To test clients for the presence of drug and alcohol as required
Ensure regular consultation with clients takes place and promote their equality, diversity and rights
To contribute positively to relevant internal and external forums.
To collaborate effectively with partner agencies and bring a proactive approach to partnership work.
To support the other members of the team in the delivery of the therapeutic programme and ensure that the programme is adhered to.
To ensure professional and ethical practice is adhered to.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Psychotherapy/Counselling and BACP/UKCP or similar registration
Experience of direct psychotherapy/counselling work with clients with addictions
To be flexible and adaptable, willing to respond quickly to organisational requests and clients therapeutic needs in a changeable environment
Experience of working with addiction clients using a 12-step approach
Experience of delivering psychological interventions using other therapeutic theoretical evidence-based approaches, in particularly CBT
Experience in running groups and working with clients presenting with addictions
Experience in running groups and 1:1's via Zoom is desirable
Commitment to flexible work pattern that may require some online weekday morning or evening working.
