Pricing Manager Hastings is a leading company within the UK general insurance market; our success is driven by best-in-class pricing capability fuelled by a relentless focus on data and analytics. Due to the continued growth of our business, we are looking for a hands-on Pricing Manager to join our team of retail pricing experts and data scientists, to help shape our pricing strategy and deliver optimised street prices that will drive commercial performance. The Role This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, strongly analytical individual to join one of our most critical business areas, collaborating with some of the sharpest minds in the industry to: Enhance our pricing capability - keep up to date with the latest thinking in the industry and wider data science arena to develop new ideas for test & learn and identify strategic opportunities Manage our optimisation process - reviewing the data, analytical and modelling outputs of the team, to ensure our standards are met, diving into the code and getting your hands dirty when needed Do the right thing for our customers - foster a culture of treating customers fairly, ensuring we follow internal governance processes and adhere to regulatory requirements Location is flexible, either based at our city office in Cannon Street, or our Bexhill Group Head office down by the sea. Either way, flexible home working is an option and regular travel between offices is required. Skills and experience Being passionate about sharing your ideas and storytelling to engage and enthuse some of our most senior stakeholders is a must, and you will need to be both a fast learner and adaptable to thrive in an agile, growing business. If you are relentlessly curious, a creative thinker and enthusiastic about making a difference with data, then so much the better. On a more practical note, a numerical first degree, 4 years in an analytical role, good coding skills, and some experience of people management are essential. Ideally, you would also have a higher degree, be skilled at predictive modelling and have insurance industry pricing experience.
