Job Description

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the world's most successful, purpose-led businesses, our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil and Magnum, as a Global Reporting Manager based at their iconic Head Office in Blackfriars, London (will involve a mix of working from home and working from the office). This is a full-time temporary role to last until the end of January 2023, working a 36.25-hour week, to start ASAP. This role is paying up to £50,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a cross-functional environment and who is excited by the opportunity to drive more and better progress on sustainability goals. We are looking for a person who loves problem solving and project management to deliver reporting on time and in full against tight timelines, and who can convey this to get extended teams to deliver at their best. Improving the health of the planet is part of UL's Compass strategy to deliver long-term, superior value through brands that protect and regenerate nature and work towards a waste-free world. We have set ourselves challenging goals on plastic packaging to reduce the environmental impact of the making, use, and disposal of our products. To achieve these ambitions, it is imperative that we measure our impact and our progress against our ambitious goals, implementing our leading-edge approach to measuring the environmental impact. We are using our significant scale and sense of purpose to accelerate the transformation of how we manage plastic waste. More so, sustainability is about creating a future that is just that - sustainable across everything we do. Our team is the custodian of end-to-end innovation tracking for R&D, including our sustainability impact. We deliver insightful analyses to a broad range of stakeholders. With our sustainability product design tools and dashboards, we aim to push UL's innovation process and capability to the next level. Together with other functions involved in Innovation management (e.g. Procurement, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance) we drive better decision support on sustainable product innovation and portfolio management. The main purpose is to: (1) Deliver robust reporting on our plastic packaging commitments through delivery of accurate and timely data-based insights from a comprehensive set of metrics (2) Apply data and insights to drive a culture and mindset of sustainable design, from data collection to stakeholder decision support (3) Provide input in key strategic discussions at senior leadership level on future KPIs, tools and processes (e.g., new KPIs, establishing datasets and systems to enable transparency). Key Accountabilities Delivering, enhancing, and extending plastic packaging metrics (data, systems, and analytics) for internal and external reporting through a direct report as well as extended teams across the business Identify key drivers of change and strategic opportunity areas for plastic packaging recyclability, virgin plastic reduction, and post-consumer recycled plastic, and related KPIs for internal and external strategy and communication. Driving a mindset of sustainable product design throughout the business by maintaining dashboards to share information on the impact of our plastic packaging Key Skills Required Excellent project management, communication and analysis skills are key. Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Power BI experience would also be beneficial but is not essential. Experience in leading virtual teams. Fluent in English language. Strong bias for action. Ability to work independently and proactively, and identify next steps to get the data generation, insights and reporting process to the next level. Strong organisational awareness and applying that awareness to resolving issues with data & systems as well as resources outside the direct influence of the team.
