For more information, please visit .  Brookfield has also has recently announced the Brookfield Global Transition Fund (BGTF) co-led by Mark Carney.  BGTF builds on Brookfield’s leadership in renewable power and deep operating capabilities to scale clean energy and invest capital to accelerate the global transition to net zero. Role Purpose Brookfield Renewable Europe has created an in-house development team to develop and buy a pipeline of projects across the UK&I and technologies, to ultimate deploy capital at its target returns. Target project type, technologies and size range from small Distributed Generation (DG) to utility scale, solar to hydrogen, greenfield to small platform M&A This team is expected to work collaboratively across the Brookfield multiple functions, regions, teams, business, funds and portfolio companies, leveraging resources where appropriate. The key stakeholders are technical/operations, legal, markets and M&A    The role is for an experienced Grid Manager professional to work closely with, and support the UKI Development Team (CDO, UKI Development Director, Ireland Development Manager, analysts etc) to secure, optimize and deliver optimal grid connections across technologies e.g., onshore and offshore wind, PV, BESS, hydrogen etc, through Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and M&A.  Primary focus is on UK TSO and DNOs, though experience in Ireland will be a material plus  Brookfield has a material development exposure in Europe through its portfolio companies but in addition is keen to rebuild its own development presence across Europe, through M&A and organic growth, supported by a strong current PPA pipeline.  Key Accountabilities The candidate is expected to lead all aspects related to grid, including proactively finding available connection capacity directly with the TSO/DNOs, lead the application and negotiations processes, and support all the relevant teams with constant optimization and improvements, from a technical and financial perspective, to financial close and beyond. Both alone and/or with external co-development partners.  This is a role only suitable for someone who is senior, independent, technically minded, self-sufficient, with very good market knowledge and able to work collaboratively through multi-disciplinaries virtual internal teams and consultants as needed. Problem solving and execution perseverance will be key.  The ideal candidate will speak English and one or two more core European languages. Location ideally in Scotland, with some flexibility. In order to efficiently perform this role, the ideal candidate is expected to have and further establish relationships with all relevant parties like TSOs, DNOs, Grid consultants, land consultants, developers, Technical Advisors, OEMs, EPCs, Asset Management and O&M providers etc. Ensuring health & safety standards are developed, maintained, and adhere to the group’s HSSE policy requirements, including the management of external consultants  Knowledge, Skills & Experience The role benefits from a good understanding of all aspects planning and permitting law and process, grid/electrical systems and regimes and various operators  Project Management (including budgeting, cost & capex management) experience is essential   Good presentation, structuring and financial skills are essential to ensure internal and external success of this role and ultimately capital deployment   Brookfield has deep technical expertise to draw upon, but this person is expected to be proficient in natural resource assessment and technical constraints, to be able to independently assess projects and efficiently coordinate internal and external experts The candidate is expected to have a deep and proven track record and qualifications in relevant areas for this role, having worked for other good developers, grid operators or technical consultants and with an academic background preferably in a technical area.  Brookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it.  Accordingly, we do not tolerate workplace discrimination, violence or harassment.We are proud to create a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
