As a Regional Manager of the Appian Proposal Team, you will oversee regional proposal-team members and support the worldwide sales organisation in the coordination, development, and submission of responses to prospect or customer solicitations (or similar documents). Further, you will work with departmental leadership to understand and monitor proposal needs at the regional and global levels, provide guidance and enablement to the various Appian writing teams regarding proposal best practices, contribute to team strategic improvements and decisions, and assist in the creation and management of proposal collateral across internal content- and knowledge-management repositories.As a successful Regional Manager of the Proposal Team, you will:· Manage direct reports through mentoring, coaching, and active support, when necessary.· Provide career-path guidance to direct reports and perform typical management activities such as regular performance reviews and feedback, communication of role updates (such as title changes and raises), and time-off request approvals.· Collaborate with regional sales managers to understand proposal-support needs.· Assist in the development of strategic process, tool, and personnel improvements and initiatives based on regional or global demand.· Participate in and lead proposal-team strategy and continuing-education sessions.· Ensure the development, production, and delivery of compliant, professional proposals within customer-defined time frames, and directly manage responses if workload demands.· Create and maintain reusable content and collateral.About YouIndividuals poised for success as a Regional Manager of the Proposal Team have the following qualifications and skills:Bachelor’s degree (writing-intensive fields preferred).Five-plus years of direct proposal development experience.At least one to two years of people-management experience.Self-motivated, with the ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across multiple departments with minimal supervision.Exceptional writing, editing/proofreading, document formatting, communication, time management, organisation, and interpersonal skills.High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite required.Proficiency with Google Suite preferred.Additional language capabilities beneficial but not required.About What We OfferSales is a team sport; and as a Manager of Proposal Development, you are one of the key players.
