Job Title: Material Handling Operations Manager

Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of warehouse, material handling & 3PL integrated operations at the Lotus Hethel site. The Material Handling Operations Manager will achieve KPI targets related to health & safety, material availability, inventory accuracy and door-to-line delivery performance, executed through a culture of strong leadership, teamwork and commitment.


Implement & develop a material handling operations organisation that delivers the objectives of the Lotus organisation, in accordance with safety, cost and operational execution targets.Develops, implements and executes processes that ensure consistent quality in material handling operational service level, at all times.Support Lotus Hethel Production Operations in meeting vehicle build schedules with full material availability, at the right time, at point of fit.Foster a culture of continuous improvement.Conducts Layered Process Audits focussed on Safety, 5S and Operational Effectiveness (availability, productivity, quality).Review, track and where appropriate improve 3PL performance as part of overall inbound/door-to-line integration and support.

Role objectives

100% safety of the team, measured through LTAR, near miss and performance management processes, supported by proactive safety improvement initiatives.Manages all operations through capable supervisory staffDevelops changes to improve existing activities (layouts, plan for every part, ergonomics, routings, tooling, facilities, material), working with stakeholders in HSE, Supply Chain Engineering & Manufacturing EngineeringImplement, develop and maintain 5S standardsMonitors compliance to all handling safety standards, as required under governmental regulations and Lotus HSE policy/protocol.
Robust performance management at organisation and individual level, with focus on improvement, process expertise, succession planning, people development and training.Manages all inventory transactions, plans and material availability within the manufacturing location.

Essential Criteria

Significant experience as a warehouse/logistics senior manager in a fast-paced operations environmentExperience managing 3PL integrated relationshipsStrong people/performance management skillsFosters a culture of continuous improvement & warehouse/logistics functional excellence


Experience in automotive manufacturing operations
