A major global law firm is looking for a confident, proactive and energetic Communications Manager to drive the profile, reputation and communications for the firm's preeminent Global Disputes practice.Reporting to the Head of Communications for the UK & US, the successful candidate will sit on the global leadership team for Disputes and will enjoy a highly visible and varied role working with partners with high standards. You will primarily build, develop and manage the promotion of the London Disputes practice among the relevant top-tier and trade and sector publications covering the market. Driving the PR strategy for the Global Disputes Practice and supporting the EPI and Competition practices, you will devise and implement a global PR Plan, linking to the firm's wider strategy, and setting targets and metrics for media coverage. The Communications Manager will support the practice and disputes leadership team to build and maintain relationships with the press and prepare them for interviews. You will be responsible for identifying potential news, topics and comment opportunities for the practice and driving the quantity and quality of media coverage for the firm, drafting and distributing briefing notes and press releases, setting up journalist meetings and briefings and commissioning articles. The role holder will also work with the Global Disputes Management Team and the wider Corporate Communications team to ensure that major profile-raising projects and global plans are strategically aligned across the firm to heighten the firm's Disputes profile globally, including the US, UK, EMEA, Asia and Australia. As well as being embedded within the practice, you will in addition be required to work closely with the firm's BD, marketing, brand and digital teams to develop and support profile-raising and promotional activities.The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent and proven relevant experience in a large dynamic professional services firm, ideally a law firm, with any additional PR agency and journalism experience being a strong plus. Previous experience in managing content development for thought leadership campaigns will also be essential. The Communications Manager will be self-motivated, goal orientated, creative and independent and possess exceptional judgment, discretion, responsiveness and initiative combined with outstanding communication skills and the ability to interface with clients, the media and all levels of personnel within the firm.Leighton Taylor promotes diversity, equality and fair treatment in all aspects of our work.
