While you will be based in one of our Grant Thornton offices, significant travel will be required for client-based projects within the UK and overseas. We work across various industries; our clients are varied, and therefore location will vary.We’re happy to talk flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, we’ll support you to balance your work and life. A look into the role As a Transformation Consulting Managerwithin our team, you will: Work as part of a team in helping clients shape their transformation plans in identifying the opportunity for change, the value drivers that will make it successful, and defining into a roadmap for changeProvide hands-on Programme Management capabilities on large-scale transformation and change programmes for our varied clients. Lead and coordinate workstreams and setting the pace and momentum for change in that business or organisationSupport the design, implementation, and management of project, programme or portfolio management offices in overseeing and directing change and transformationDevelop and lead delivery-based infrastructure and collateral including programme plans, risk, issues, actions assumption and dependencies (RAIDAA). Defining critical paths based on a clear understanding of the inter-dependencies between workstreams and projects etc.        Provide insights and analysis on the performance and progress of projects, including critical success factors, scenario planning, and value creation. Providing the client with value-add inputs and advise in facilitating decision making and informing thinking and plansSupport the Transformation Director and wider Business Consulting leadership team in achievement of our strategy and wider ambitions and plans for growthDraft and review project progress reports and related artefacts around client engagementMaintain oversight and awareness of the commercial aspects of our projects and wider team activity in assuring best possible outcomes in returns for the firmDevelop and foster positive relationships with our clients and wider external network in a trusted advisor capacityBuild your brand. Internal and external networking, in progressing business development and targeting activityOwn and take full accountability for ensuring compliance with our quality and risk management processes. Always operate with the highest degrees of integrity, remain mindful of potential risks and issues, and proactively flag or address theseUnderstand and take an active role in the financials of the team including feeding into the preparation of budgets and forecasts, achieving annual revenue targets, and wider performance indicators, including commercial KPIs and working capital managementSupport marketing and business development activity in contributing to proposals and pitch documents, to leading on creating insights, market analysis, and thought leadershipKnowing you’re right for us Joining us as a Transformation Consulting Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is to have is strong communication skills both written and verbal as well as excellent PowerPoint presentation skills. You would also need to have the following as a minimum:Extensive years’ experience of managing the delivery of different types of complex projects, either within industry or with a consultancyWorking knowledge and experience across multiple sectors and industries, not limited to one area e.g., technologyExperience in the development and delivery of strategy, associated implementation plans, business cases, and operating and governance structures for large transformation and change programmes. Including target operating model design, organisational design and reorganisation, cost base rationalisation, and strategy development and mobilisationJoining the team, you will need to be resilient and empathetic as well as respectful, and inclusive of others and their voices and opinions. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.Experience of assisting with the design and development of a Programme or PMO from the ground upDevelopment of project plans across work streams and management of critical paths and dependencies in a projectProject / Programme management qualification e.g. Prince2, MoP, and understanding and experience of other project management methodologies (e.g. Agile)Development of strategy documents and qualitative business cases. The ability to be able to translate and present data, information, and insights in a compelling way.
