We believe that advertising, when done well, can greatly enhance the value of the customer experience and generate a positive return on investment for our advertising partners.The Amazons Ads Analytics and Insights (A&I) team is looking for a motivated and experienced leader to own, develop and manage the Technical Content and Business Growth Framework team and help scale our growing advertising business. The Manager, Industry Analytics will manage a team of Analytics & Insights Professionals (AIP) responsible for building and delivering insights-led narratives and technical content. This Manager will also drive the scaling of content via automation and continuous improvement of content via measurement-led development. This Manager will lead strategy development and driving the growth of our scaling products and programs.• Be comfortable managing a global team and working with cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Marketing, Analytics & Insights, Sales) spread out in all regions (NA, APAC, EU, MENA) and working across multiple industries.• Own the strategy and development of our scaling programs and products to deliver valuable content to enable our Sales teams to help grow our Advertiser’s businesses with Amazon Ads.• Guide your team to deliver narratives led by analytics & insights complete with recommendations and strategies to help our advertiser’s meet their goals.• Be able to deal with ambiguity to help your team decipher complex problems, select an ideal solution from a wide array of analytic techniques and concepts, translate into actionable requirements and when needed be “hands on” in helping your team to review code, insights or automation.• Own relationships with leadership stakeholders across Engineering to develop collaborations to increase efficiency and reach of our content. Working closely with Product Managers to guide the development of UIs and APIs.• Collaborate with Marketing to design and execute our awareness, adoption and go-to-market strategies to drive growth of our content.• Own measurement, reporting and tracking of the Business Growth Framework. Regularly share results and learnings with leadership via weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews. • Grow your team: You'll be accountable for a services team that delivers result. You'll need to coach individuals, lead technical discussions, recruit top talent and establish processes. You'll be an example of Amazon's leadership principles and work to grow more leaders within your group.• Lead beyond your team: You’ll work closely with A&I Services leaders globally to ensure we deliver high quality service to our global clients and continuously share knowledge and raise the bar globally. You will contribute to the overall growth of our business globally by working closely with Sales and Account Management teams.• Have the ability to collaborate, work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across multiple business functions and geographies.Key job responsibilities• Familiar with e-commerce and advertising data and have a track record of developing and delivering client insights using this data.• Highly analytical and data-driven: You are a hands-on technical leader with track record of building and growing data science teams. You help develop the creative atmosphere to let your team innovate, while holding them accountable for making smart decisions and delivering results.• Capable of dealing with ambiguity: You're able to explore new problem spaces with unique constraints and thus non-obvious solutions; you’re quick to identify any gaps in the team and the right person to fill them to best deliver value to customers.• You are customer obsessed and have sharp business acumen to build a product vision and roadmap that contributes to the success of our advertisers.Basic qualifications• Experience managing global teams of data scientist, data analysts or insights professionals.• Experience designing a compelling visions and strategies to deliver against significant scaling goal• Ability to translate technical aspects of analysis and metrics into actionable content for the advertiser and both technical and non-technical stakeholders• Excellent data driven storytelling skills• A good grasp of advanced statistical techniques and methodologies • Proficiency in SQL and Python – not necessarily being able to write complex queries from scratch but being able to work with AIPs to review and provide guidance in how to optimize their code• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal)• Proven experience in product or project management of complex deliverables with limited resources • A track record of hiring and developing technical talent• Extremely curious with passion for discovering underlying drivers of consumer behaviour and deep insight experience• Experience working with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure etc)• Experience working across multiple industry verticals, especially in advertising or marketing domains• A track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects that have been successfully delivered to customersPreferred qualification • MBA, Master’s degree or PhD in Economics, Marketing, Engineering or related quantitative fieldExperience in advertising technology in a role where you managed significant complexity and scaling challenges• Experience in performance advertising in a role where you managed significant complexity and scaling challengesAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
