Job summaryAmazon is seeking a highly experienced communications professional to join the UK corporate communications team to drive high-impact proactive corporate communications campaigns, in particular focusing on socioeconomic investment and impact. This role requires a passionate, self-motivated and creative communications professional to work across the business to develop ideas and campaigns that reach key stakeholders through a wide variety of earned and owned communications channels. Excellent writing skills are imperative. The post-holder must think and communicate clearly and be able to formulate a clear viewpoint on complicated issues, creating a concise and well-written narrative to express their opinions. The successful candidate will pay painstaking attention to detail, and think strategically and look to the long term. They will be comfortable working with financial data and economic analysis, often working with internal teams and external consultants to develop new ways of evaluating socioeconomic impact. Successful candidates, must demonstrate the ability to build relationships and credibility with key stakeholders, both internal and external. They will be prepared to roll up their sleeves and get work done, often working across many teams, and even when at times it sits outside the scope of the role’s direct remit. This role will report to the UK Head of Corporate Communications.Key job responsibilitiesDevising and implementing communications goals, strategies and communications campaigns that advance our business goals and strengthen our corporate reputationConduct proactive and reactive media relations in support of Amazon’s corporate reputationManage corporate campaigns through the development and execution of relevant communications campaigns. This role will have a particular focus on areas including the social and economic impact of Amazon across the UK.Provide communications counsel to colleagues and leaders across the business on both short and long-term challenges and opportunitiesEffectively represent Amazon as a spokespersonCreate and update proactive communication materials and content for use internally and externally, including media materials, social and web content. Develop effective outreach programmes to additional corporate stakeholders such as industry analysts and third-party groupsLiaise with colleagues in global teams to ensure consistency of company-wide communicationA day in the lifeWork closely with diverse teams and leaders across Amazon to develop proactive campaigns that focus on economic and social impact.Spend time thinking of creative approaches, developing ideas from concept to execution, and diving deep into existing / developing new data and stories. Build relationships (new and existing) internally and externally to inform our strategy and support our communications.Basic qualifications-significant years of experience working in communications-Experience creating communications campaigns focusing on socioeconomic impactPreferred qualification -Experience working in a large-scale (preferably international) organization -Experience working directly with and supporting senior leadership -Excellent written and oral communications skills-A proven track record of developing highly-creative and impactful communications programmes-Creative thinker, with an eye for spotting business and cultural trends and their relevance to different audiences -Demonstrates an analytical approach to identifying and solving problems and can think laterally/ creatively about potential solutions, suggest new ideas and take initiative -Thinks big and has convictionsRelentlessly high standards and excellent attention to detail-Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution -Ability to work to tight deadlines and on short lead times-Action and results-oriented -Able to inspire passion in othersAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
