You'll be responsible for shaping and delivering credit cards payments and service strategy to protect retail spend and ensure credit cards remain relevant in the market and with customers. Embracing the ‘best of both’ that hybrid working offers, we’re open to discussing agile and flexible ways of working.What you'll be doing …Understand the payments ecosystem, changes and opportunities in the UK regulatory and market landscape, and Group payment strategy to:Identify, evaluate, and deliver enhanced and new payment and value added propositionsEnsure credit cards payments strategy is part of a cohesive consumer and Group payment strategy which maximises opportunities and drives customer valueMonitor and manage the performance of payment initiatives in delivery, and once deliveredKey Accountabilities:Support the shaping of the consumer credit card agenda for payments and value added services and understand/monitor relevant Group wide initiativesProvide thought leadership across a broad range of payments topics, built on a solid understanding of market trends, worldwide payments initiatives, competitor landscape, changes in the UK regulatory environment and Group payment objectivesCoordinate and build relationships with key businesses areas such as PCA, Commercial Banking and Open Banking among others to ensure initiatives alignment/support and third parties such as the Schemes (Visa and Mastercard)Produce and deliver high quality position papers and presentations to different partners to support the decision making of relevant business propositionsEnsure all payments initiatives approved are delivered within the objectives and timelines defined and raising risks/challenges at the appropriate timeCoordinate the performance management of the products/services delivered and build the basis for future transition to operational BAU teams if appropriateManage the performance and drive a sustained growth of the payment initiatives retained within the teamContinuously demonstrate and advocate LBG values and behaviours.What you can bring to the roleKey Skills:Experience within the UK credit card market and industry with focus on innovative payments and services, technical solutions, and business/customer propositionsUnderstanding of the UK payments business and regulatory environment and players in the ecosystemDemonstrate deep and broad business insight to understand success drivers and challenges within the business and card industryExperience on leading, motivating, and empowering teams to deliver and perform in a highly complex and dynamic payments environmentAbility to develop customer propositions and to translate them into quantifiable business opportunities and marketing plansStrong leadership skills, proven ability to work in a cross functional environmentStrong analytical, communication and influencing skills within all levels of the organisation and ability to utilise data to support, enhance and drive decisionsExplicitly and visibly manages risk and reward trade-offs when making business decisionsSo what can we offer you in returnIn return for your expertise, you'll enjoy our total dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development.
