Build and maintain relationships with the client. Manage all the costs relating to the development of a new site for the business. Seek to minimise the cost and risk of the project and enhance value for money, whilst still achieving the required legal standards and quality.  A contract manager is an integral part of our management team, managing senior level relationships with key stakeholders. Be the first port of contact and responsible for the day-to-day performance, compliance, and ensuring processes and produces are in line with KPIs.TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESSupporting the NEC Project Manager to administer the post contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual change and paymentsBuild & Nurture the key stakeholders’ relationships across the wider businessEnsure that the project team comply with the contractual obligationsSupport suppliers in providing accurate and validated information for Project Cost and Financial ForecastsSupervising contract execution to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelinesReviewing and developing operational processed to improve performance and maximise opportunitiesParticipation in risk and value management/meetings as required for the projectAssisting in CVR processes and preparing periodic commercial reportsCalculating material quantities and cost, labour costs and within the required timeframeMonitoring contractors & sub-contractors, safety aspects, progress and requirementsProducing reports on progress and detailing costsResponsible for all pre and post contract commercial activities and managing Commercial teams on assigned project portfolioPrice & Forecast the cost of the different materials required for the projectPrepare contracts, budgets, bill of quantities and all other documentationTrack changes to the project and adjust budget projections accordinglyProcure and agree services of contractors & sub-contractors working on the projectMonitor the work progress and qualityLiaise with all key internal & external stakeholdersManage payments with contractors & sub-contractorsMonitor and verify all costs within the projectKey records keeping and reporting of all contractual worksApplying value management techniques at the onset of the projectManaging estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost planIdentifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management proceduresEnsuring the cost checking and valuation work is managed effectivelyProvide commercial support and decision making to key stakeholders, managing contracts to ensure delivery of the strategic objectives throughout the life cycle of the project and deliver demonstrable value for moneyDevelopment and implementation of innovative commercial and contract strategies aligned to KPIsQualificationsPreferable to process a degree related to quantity surveying / law / procurement or working towards MCIPS / MRICSExcellent experience of NEC3/4In-depth technical knowledge of specialised field, including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy settingSuitable managerial experience within a Contract/Commercial environmentGood understanding of H&S, IOSH Managing Safely preferableExperience of working on rail projects would be advantageousExperience of working in infrastructureExcellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third partiesWhat we offerThis is a rare opportunity to join the team and be part of an exiciting project that has scope to grow within the next decade with contracts for the next 20 yearson one of the largest rail infrastructure project in the UK.
