• Full-Time/RegularBusiness Contribution:Accountable for UK procurement. Implement procurement strategies in close cooperation with Global Category Managers and the Director of Regional Procurement. Manage the operational and tactical procurement of local goods and services across all sites in the UK and provide support for strategic supply chain initiatives. Drive process improvement across Supply Chain function and coordinate with all functions.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for the operational & tactical procurement activities of the operating units in the managed regionAct as the point of contact between Global Category Management teams, Regional Procurement Director, and operations as the procurement leader for the region managedDrive regional saving initiatives and actions as determined by global and regional strategiesDrive implementation of the Procurement strategy in close cooperation with Global Category management teamEnsure procurement processes and standards are clearly understood, communicated, applied locally and effectiveEnsure that the supply of goods and services is according to required specifications and qualityMonitor performance reporting and ensure quality & accuracy of data for local, regional, and global reportingEnsure that reporting and tracking tools reflect tracking and status accuratelyNegotiate with suppliers in close coordination with Category Management for local volumes, processes, quality levels and pricesTake ownership for individual Procurement targets on a local levelAlign internal regional decision makers through focused communicationEnsure that all regional and local requirements are transferred to Category teams as appropriateEstablish appropriate guidelines, policy and governance in line with the group across the local organizationImprove regional and local Procurement systems to enhance efficiency, compliance and processesManage the regional procurement team to drive best in class workforce through motivation and development of technical skills, as well as integration with the Global Procurement functionDrive the development of talent, bench strength, and succession planning within the organization, and provide clear development and career path guidanceIdentify gaps in the skills and competencies of procurement team members and establish and implement personal development plansDrive best-value procurement of new product development and design projects in conjunction with the CoE Procurement Manager, working with the Global Category Managers to ensure consistency with global sourcing strategiesMakes recommendations for supply base improvements and assists with Category strategiesSupports the negotiation of long-term supply agreements, contracts, and supplier logistics arrangements, working closely with the Global Category Managers to determine and execute the strategy. Negotiates in terms of quality, delivery, and costReview supplier scorecards on high spend commodities regularly with the Global Category Managers. Coordinates business review meetings with key suppliersInitiates & drives corrective actions as necessary within the Supply Chain and advises management as needed, with the support of the regional procurement team and the Supplier Quality Engineering function.Monitors the placement of Purchase Orders ensuring all data is accurate and all required approvals are properly obtained according to the company’s procurement approval matrix policies.Job Dimension:Drive key procurement activities of the region, lead the regional procurement team, manage regional stakeholders and cross-functional team membersResponsibility & accountability for procurement in the regionFull accountability and high autonomy in execution of role and significant influence across the regionKey Interfaces Internal:VP Global Procurement, Regional Procurement Director, Regional Presidents, Regional and local Operations LeadershipCoE management teamEnerpac Supply Chain teamGlobal and Regional Functional organizations as stakeholders and cross-functional team members: Engineering, Legal, IT, Finance, Shared Services, Logistics, HRKey Interfaces External:Supplier base in the region(direct relationships with key suppliers)Network of peers in own/other industriesRequired Capabilities:Degree preferably in a technical discipline or equivalent from an accredited University programDemonstrated working knowledge of purchasing/production control/inventory management processes and relevant purchasing/planning work experienceProven performance in managing and developing a team in a Procurement functionExperience in different geographies and working with different culturesCertification as a CPM, CPIM, MCIPS or CSCP a plusProficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints, purchasing specifications, bill of materialsAbility to deal with ambiguities, conflicts and adversarial relationshipsProven ability to assess potential and risks associated with supplier and market changes, and integrate with category and sourcing strategiesProven ability in analysis and interpretation of dataProven ability to identify problems quickly, make sound judgments, establish and implement solutionsInteracts effectively and positively with internal and external customersMust be able to work effectively in a team environment; Understands and actively supports the value of teamworkConsistently demonstrates attention to detail and strives to achieve high quality resultsDemonstrates ability to work against deadlines in supporting company goalsExpert negotiation skillsExperience in Supply Chain and Business Application Systems a must - (Oracle ERP systems is a plus)Experience in Lean Manufacturing and familiarity with Kanban, JIT, Pull systemsAbility to effectively lead people and manage by influenceStrong communication skills and ability to influence effectively at all levelsLives the “continuous improvement" philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and conceptsProficient in English (spoken and written) a must
