About the RoleOverviewAs Platform Manager you are part of the Technology Solutions team, reporting to the Head of Broadcast Media Solutions & Platforms. You are responsible for the lifecycle management, capacity management for the assigned platforms and for the execution of the Platforms Onboarding process.You are working in tight collaboration with the Technology Domain leads, who will be your main Technology specialist counterparts, looking after the Engineering aspects, Platform technical architecture, and Platform development activities.The Platform Manager role is instrumental in Red Bee Media services’ delivery model, focused on provisioning new services and executing change with great agility and efficiency. Essential to this model is the Platform Onboarding process, seen as the provisioning of additional pre-defined and standardized services capacity onto an existing Platform, following a templated and as much as possible automated process. You are responsible for the Platform Onboarding process specifications, optimization, and take delivery ownership for its execution when new services are requested, resulting in the provisioning of additional base services, ready to hand over for Operations and Project use.You work closely and develop joint sense of Platform management ownership with the Global Service Delivery Flow teams in Markets and Operations that takes responsibility for the Platform’s Support and Operations in order to coordinate on routine activities including maintenance, upgrades, patching, audits, and changes occurring during the lifespan of the Platform.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack and report available and used Platform capacity for all Platform resources including underlying dedicated InfrastructureAuthorise release of surplus Infrastructure to enable the provisioning of additional Platform capacity (Onboarding)Ensure all physical and logical Platform assets are correctly recorded in Red Bee Media’s CMDBincluding infrastructure and service dataForecast capacity usage against sales pipeline and prepare business cases to support pre- emptive capacity as requiredRaise and track Infrastructure requests for additional compute, connectivity, storage, and network ports against committed delivery, and accept into Platform estateRaise Purchase Orders to 3rd parties as required in line with committed delivery requirements, and accept into Platform estateMaintain Platform provisioning data collection templates with relevant teams raising the pre- emptive (ex: PreSales team) or effective (ex: Project team) provisioning request
Raise Platform provisioning / onboarding tasks in Jira and work with Technology domain leads and Professional Services Resource managers to forecast resource demandLiaise with Technology Domain leads on Platform upgrades preparation, and take a role in the Change process for roll out in Production, in close coordination with Operations teamWork with Sourcing and Commercial teams to identify sourcing efficiencies
