Join us and make impact happen with a career at TikTok.About the teamWe're looking for a seasoned communications professional with a passion for tech policy to join our Global Public Policy Communications team. Global Policy Comms supports TikTok's government relations efforts by managing a range of internal and external communications initiatives related to policy, regulation, and the political landscape. You should have the ability to easily distill and communicate complex safety, security, regulatory, and tech policy issues. You should have experience navigating and a deep understanding of the political and media landscape in the UK and throughout the EU as it relates to both challenges and opportunities for technology companies. Although this role is based in London and will focus primarily on work in the UK, it will also provide strategic policy communications guidance to PR and GR teams throughout Europe.The ideal candidate has excellent leadership skills and can collaborate with ease across teams around the globe. You're good at connecting the dots. You work well under pressure, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and you're able to respond to a range of situations with empathy and a people-first mindset.Responsibilities:- Drive strategic communications plans and programs that advance policy priorities, including reactive and proactive media communications and outreach. - Closely coordinate with TikTok's UK government relations team to keep abreast of policy and regulatory developments that affect our business.- Develop and maintain a detailed messaging playbook on key legislative/regulatory issues. - Advise other PR and GR teams throughout Europe teams on policy communications strategies and tactics.- Work in close collaboration with global policy, safety, and privacy PR teams to ensure message accuracy, consistency, and alignment of messaging across Europe and with global counterparts.- Drive or assist with the creation of written materials (i.e. position papers, blog posts, social media updates) to support TikTok's policy objectives.- Earn trust in the UK market by advancing programmes designed to increase familiarity with our app and our business among policy influencers, including journalists and GR stakeholders (i.e. background briefings)- Train and advise GR team members as company spokespeople as requiredQualifications- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required- 12+ years of communications/public affairs experience, including significant media handling expereince - Outstanding level of self organisation and ability to design systems and processes at regional scale- Deep understanding of EU government processes and experience dealing with policy communications challenges across EU- Analytical and creative approach to policy issues- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment- Deep interest in technology and related policy issues- Excellent strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills- An excellent communicator who can successfully build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externallyTikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
