Job Description

As a business analyst you'll work across RegGenome, helping to establish and change core businesses policies, processes and procedures and plan for the future in line with business goals. You'll need to understand the current organisational situation, collect information and shape and operationalise solutions to business problems, usually (but not always) in relation to information flows, people and software systems.

Reg-Genome is transforming how the world consumes regulatory information.

RegGenome is a commercial spin-out from The University of Cambridge. The University’s Judge Business School created the Regulatory Genome Project, part of the Centre for Alternative Finance, in 2021 to change how the world consumes regulatory information to enable innovation from unleashing the power of information locked in a human readable form on websites and in PDFs.

Our proposition is to structure and convert the worlds regulatory information into a machine-readable format for digital consumption; creating a repository of regulatory content that is dynamic, granular, and interoperable, enabling regulators to increase accessibility and dissemination of regulation and empowering organisations to digitise their compliance and risk management operations with confidence. Our ultimate vision is an active eco-system of users, partners, consultants, law firms, regulators, standard setting bodies and application & infrastructure providers all convening around the data to solve the worlds regulatory problems.

You will be a member of our Operations Team

You will be an important part of the Operations team, helping the Operations team get the business ready for launching our first product into major Financial Services firms. You will need to demonstrate excellent understanding of the way the organisation works and the external demands put upon it, as you'll be helping develop, test and operationalise core businesses policies, processes and procedures and help plan for the future.

You will be an important part of the operations team, gathering and analysing information, performing detailed requirements analysis to create and document processes and performing some operational readiness testing.

You'll need to communicate with internal colleagues to understand the needs of departments and the organisation as a whole and work with external stakeholders to consider potential risks to identify new and changes required to existing policies, processes and procedures. You will make recommendations, communicate the benefits of your recommendations across departments and help to address any uncertainty and concerns and gain agreement to proposals, including the optimum method of introducing your recommendations to the business.

You will produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary. You will support colleagues and teams in making changes, ensuring plans are made and processes are created to evaluate the impact of the changes made, including taking responsibility for overseeing and reporting on this evaluation and managing the impacts of change.

You'll also play a key role in communicating between internal departments and external parties.

You will evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, and uncover areas for improvement, and developing and launch initiatives to implement solutions. Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.

You will work with our Business Operations Manager to stay up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernise.

You will work with our Head of Financial & Business Management to gathering critical business information and supporting monthly production of business performance reports and working to support the production of useful reports for executives, Directors and Board members and partners.
