Job Overview:

The Technical Services Software Asset Management (SAM) team are looking for an ITAM professional to support them in providing a Software Asset Management service to the business.

The SAM Analyst role will primarily support Air Traffic Control systems Service Design, Transition and Operations. The role provides an opportunity to develop the SAM Service along with the SAM Manager.

Applicants must have experience of operating a software data discovery capability and being involved in the establishment and continued maintenance of an Effective Licence Position.

Key responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the Software Asset Manager to establish and Operate an Effective Licence Positions (ELP), maintain compliance against licence agreements & be audit ready
Support the continual improvement the Software Asset Management (SAM) capability in line with industry best practice
Monitor & support the optimisation of NATS' licensing position (including the management of licence portals & tools) to ensure the best value for NATS
Work with Supply Chain to ensure licensing agreements & contract renewals are fit for purpose
support SAM subject matter queries, to ensure consistency of advice & information on entitlement, software usage, deployment, licence availability, process, governance & compliance
Support and maintain quality relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective & continually improving SAM capability
Essential skills & experience:
Demonstrable experience of inputting to ELPs for Tier 1 & 2 Vendors e.g., Microsoft, SAP, VMware, IBM, Oracle, RedHat
Experience and knowledge of Software Vendor licencing terms such as Microsoft, RedHat, Oracle, VMWare and TIBCO are required.
Experience in the use of procurement ERP systems such as SAP Ariba
Experience in the use of SAM products such as SNOW, ServiceNow and Flexera will be beneficial.
Understanding of Cloud based licensing consumption models (e.g., M365, Azure)
A minimum of a Higher National Diploma/Diploma Higher Education (DipHE) in a Business Management, Information Technology or Engineering related discipline, or relevant experience.
The candidate will hold an ITIL Foundation level certificate.
Previous experience embedding software asset management policies, processes & tools
Proven analytical & reasoning skills
Communicates in a clear & engaging way, sharing information to build enthusiasm & commitment
Collaborative working style with a clear focus on delivering outcomes
