What are we looking for?
Otis is currently recruiting for an IT Business Systems Developer/ Project Manager for a fixed term contract whilst the current post holder focuses on an implementation project. Based out of our Leicester office, you will work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, delivering IT software projects of varying sizes both independently and as part of a team. You will be involved at all levels of projects from analysis and planning to hands-on development and implementation.
Although initially for a 12-month contract, this role will provide the successful candidate with a great opportunity to showcase the skills and abilities for future permanent opportunities.
In this role you will:
Analyze key business and technical requirements, often with limited initial information
Identifying areas for improvement, assisting in developing improvements and procedures
Work with offshore development teams and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
Be involved in hands-on SQL database development and report-building when developing in-house
Use your technical knowledge to monitor and ensure the quality of work produced during the development cycle
Support the creation of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for adherence to GDPR
Assist in the rollout of projects to end users
Review and resolve software issues in-house or by liaising with our support partners
Join meetings to provide progress reports direct to users and management
Ensure any change control processes are followed
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:
Analytical, organized and a good communicator with at least two years of experience working to project deadlines with multiple priorities from different stakeholders
Understanding of database structures, accessing, interfacing, and reporting data
Knowledge of the structure and use of Microsoft SQL development tools e.g. SQL Server Management Studio
Experience of all standard Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Candidate should be able to work and manage their responsibilities independently and collaborate with cross functional teams
Excellent organizational skills
First-rate communication skills and a calm and professional manner will be essential
