Portobello High School
Hours: 35 per week
Portobello High School is currently one of the largest local authority run schools in Edinburgh with a roll of more than 1400, drawn mainly from five associate primary schools.
In October 2016 the school moved into a superb new building on Milton Road close to rail, bus and road links. Significant investment has been made in digital technology to support effective learning, including 1-1 iPads for all young people and teaching staff and 80'' teaching screens connected to Apple TV in all classrooms.
A number of innovative approaches have been adopted to help our young people develop the skills and attributes required to make successful post school transitions. Positive relationships are at the heart of our approach, underpinned by our Achieving Together strategy.
The school has well-established links with its community and the proximity of Edinburgh College, four Universities and all that the Scotland's capital city has to offer gives scope for the development of further partnerships.
