Internal Communication Business Partner
Department: Communication
Location: Shotton
Salary up to £40,000 per annum

The Role:

Acorn is currently recruiting for an Internal Communication Business Partner to join their clients communication team based at their Shotton facility.

In this role you will work in conjunction with senior leadership to develop and implement an internal communication strategy.

You will translate the strategy into a robust internal communication programme that builds employee understanding, engagement and motivation, while providing direction and prompting feedback.

The key accountabilities of the role

* Support the Head of Internal Communication by delivering and leading internal communication activities that support the strategy for a defined portfolio - business area, site, market, topic or workstream
* Develop strong relationships with Works Managers and Function Leads across our clients UK business and other communication colleagues to maximise the effective development and delivery of the internal communication strategy
* Develop detailed knowledge of the defined portfolio - business area, site, market, topic or workstream in order to inform the effective delivery of the internal communication strategy
* Take our clients UK-wide ownership of core internal communications channels ensuring they are effectively implemented, interactive, and are continuously improved to achieve high levels of employee engagement
* Ensure all communication materials and channels support key business goals in a timely and engaging manner and are aligned to the clients brand guidelines and values.
* Work closely with the Head of Internal Communication, Head of Public Relations, Head of Public Affairs & Community and the Head of Decarbonisation Communications to produce relevant and timely communication content and materials suitable for online and offline and disparate workforce
* Brief and appoint external suppliers to support the delivery of communication activities as and when necessary ensuring best value, quality and brand consistency is achieved.
* Drive the development of consistent UK-wide tools to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication activities
* Investigate, research and adopt industry-leading tools and best practice communication principles to secure high-impact, innovative outcomes that provide maximum and measurable value to the business
* Develop relationships and formal governance with all communication colleagues (Marketing, Community, Education Liaison, Public Affairs and Decarbonisation) to ensure that externally relevant issues are effectively communicated to the relevant internal audiences
* Develop and ensure consistent messaging around key strategic business themes
* Support and contribute to management of interventions / leadership events / key stakeholder events / press events; internal campaign management.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

* Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills,
* Be proficient at networking, relationship building, partnering, mentoring and coaching.
* Demonstrate experience of managing an internal communication portfolio and delivering key communication activities
* Be a member of a Professional Institution (IoIC, CIM, CIPR) and/or have evidence of CPD
* Experience of digital production, video editing and basic graphic design is desirable
