Fimatix is a Software Solution Delivery Consultancy to HM Government and FinTech industries. Our client in the Financial Services sector has asked us to source a permanent Digital team under our TaaS service offering.
This role is primarily responsible for the development, implementation and support of the mission critical business applications. It will focus on developments that serve the Data Warehouse in terms of data capture and Business Intelligence to provide structures for reporting and cubes using PowerBI tools. Other platforms used include the Appian low-code environment equipped with Robotics Process Automation.
The individual is responsible for the product management, technical design, development and testing of the SQL Data Warehouse and PowerBI and their integration with the other business applications and for ensuring that technology solutions provided meet the requirements of the business. Furthermore, they will be responsible for on-going support and administration of the systems.
The role requires involvement across all areas of the business globally and engagement with the third-party support suppliers and strategic partners as appropriate.
Your responsibilities will include:
Build and maintain customer service focused relationships with business teams.
Facilitate the identification and documentation of business requirements for the development of new, or improvement to existing, processes and technology solutions
Translate solutions from business requirement into functional and technical specifications
Contribute to the identification, diagnosis and resolution of production issues as required.
Using in-depth knowledge of SQL and PowerBI, develop and support the Data Warehouse and associated ETL code, ensuring that best practice methods and internal procedures are followed.
Act as a super-user for, in particular for the PowerBI business intelligence tools used within the firm, and fulfil the role of application administrator if required.
Develop test plans and scripts to cover system and integration testing stages
Work closely with the business teams in developing User Acceptance Test plans and scripts
Assist with job estimation and project planning for assigned tasks and responsibilities
Maintain and produce the required environment documentation as relevant to the support of the implementation of changes and enhancement of production support knowledge, e.g. release notes, change control documentation, user guides, support knowledge bases.
Key skills required are:
At least 5 years experience with Business Intelligence applications, Database Management and Data Warehouse Development.
Comprehensive technical background in financial systems Business Intelligence support, database administration or middleware applications. Working knowledge of PowerBI tool set.
Educated to degree level or evidence of strong academic achievement in a related field.
Excellent grasp of SQL and developing SQL stored procedures.
Experience of Kimball methodology and dimensional data modeling.
Comfortable using SDLC / Waterfall / Agile development techniques, including writing unit tests.
Familiar with analyzing SQL performance and experience of a variety of ETL Tools.
Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and experience in a customer service or client-facing environment.
Experience and willingness to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Educated to degree level or evidence of strong academic achievement in a related field.
