Role and Responsibilities
General admin duties including phone calls and email enquiries, dealing with parents and other stakeholders face to face, signing visitors in and out as well as dealing with the photocopying and post.
Using Microsoft Word and excel on a daily basis to create documents and spreadsheets for daily use.
Use SIMS (schools information management system) to maintain and update student records.
Provide admin support for staff throughout the school when needed.
Assisting with pupils events to ensure a smooth process.
Learn other admin roles to cover other staff when needed.
Set up meetings and manage electronic diaries.
Provide basic first aid as a first point of contact and assist within administration of medication.
A level 3 apprentice will be expected to take full responsibility's for an aspect of school administration and to lead a workplace improvement project with the aim of delivering a more efficient service to an aspect of the admin role.
Good knowledge of Microsoft systems
Good keyboard skills
Good telephone manner
Numerate and literate
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise own workload and use initiative
Ability to work to timescales
Accurate and good attention to detail
Communicate effectively with children and adults with confidence
Maths and English GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent
Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. – Change this depending on the type of apprenticeship.
Maths & English level 2 if not already achieved.
Appts with apprentice, employer & provider, observations of workplace as well as gathering evidence.
Undertake self-assessment in last month of apprenticeship. The self-assessment must be submitted to the end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project, employer reference & interview about the portfolio and project.
Potentially leading to a full time role(performance and budget related)
