Next is one of the UK’s best known retailers on the high-street and most established online operations. At the heart of our operation we have a dynamic, state of the art Warehousing and Logistics business employing more than 9,000 people across our network, with ambitious growth plans for this year and beyond.
2022 is another exciting chapter in the growth story of Next, with the opening of our new warehouse on the Elmsall Complex. As part of the expansion in Next Distribution, our Loss Prevention team is growing, and we are looking for talented people to join us.
Our Loss Prevention team plays a key role in our large scale distribution operations. You will be working as part of a team ensuring the security and safety of our sites, vehicles, stock and people 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Reporting to the site Loss Prevention Manager, our Officers are responsible for ensuring warehouse security at all times. The role is varied and challenging; as the first point of contact for our staff, visitors and contractors, you will be responsible for monitoring access to site, deliveries and vehicle loads in order to keep stock loss to a minimum. As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will observe potential security risks and conduct searches of people and vehicles to deter acts of theft, dealing with any incidents arising from these in a calm and professional manner and completing detailed reports and statements.
You will monitor the fire and intruder alarm systems and CCTV, alerting any issues promptly to the Loss Prevention Manager and warehouse operations team.
We are looking for excellent communicators and team-players, people with a strong customer focus who like to build and maintain good working relationships with management, visitors and colleagues.
You will be flexible in your approach with a can-do attitude and be calm with dealing with potentially difficult situations involving conflict.
Educated to a minimum level of GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English, you will be PC literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office/Google Suite packages. Experience in a similar role and with using CCTV systems is an advantage.
A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for this post and candidates must be prepared to become First Aid trained as required.
If shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview and assessment
