Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Wealth Management Administrator to join a successful practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management based in Cheltenham (GL50 1) on a full time basis. The role can be a combination of office based and home working if required.

Role overview

Due to internal promotion, we are recruiting for a Wealth Management Administrator who will provide dedicated support to the Senior Partner (business owner) and the Paraplanner on an operational basis, responsible for day-to-day running of the practice from an administrative and operational capacity. The role has the opportunity to progress to a senior administrative Practice Manager in the future.

This is an interesting and challenging role that will include a combination of PA services to the Partner, client servicing and administration. The Practice is busy, successful and dynamic and therefore requires an individual who is highly organised and enjoys working within this type of environment and has the ability to multi-task. This role is integral to the success and operational running of the business.

The role shall be a combination of technical support, client servicing to high net worth clients and general administration. It would be highly suited to an individual with previous general financial services administration experience ideally having supported a financial adviser, with an understanding of basic financial services products, and is seeking long-term commitment in a senior administrative role.

During the initial training period the successful candidate will be required to work full time from the office to develop a good relationship with the Partner and paraplanner. However, the practice is family-friendly there is flexibility for this role to be covered working from home for up to 3 days a week in the longer term.

Role requirements

The Role

  • You will be running the back office, providing technical and administrative support to the Partner and paraplanner
  • You will liaise with clients and help service existing client accounts, building rapport with them along the way
  • You will Liaise with 3rd party providers where appropriate
  • You will be responsible for business submission and workflow tracking, using SJP tools and associated core systems such as Salesforce
  • You will be responsible for meeting preparation and follow-up actions
  • You will be providing additional general PA support for the Partner, including diary and event management

Person specification

  • Proven work experience as an Administrator within a similar role supporting a financial adviser or within financial services
  • You are a self-starter who is able to work and remain motivated independently
  • Strong knowledge of SJP systems and processes highly preferable
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport and manage client relationships
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Exceptionally strong organisational skills
  • To be able to problem solve
  • Great time management and planning skills
  • Great work ethic and enthusiasm
  • It is essential that you can work with honesty, integrity, and total discretion

Additional information

  • Salary: £20-30K OTE per annum depending on skills, financial services qualifications and experience, including discretionary bonus opportunity.
  • Hours of work: Full time, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
  • Location: Cheltenham (GL50 1), opportunity to work from home post training period on a part-time basis.
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays, plus additional discretionary entitlement between Christmas and New Year.
  • Pension: Company matching pension scheme in place
  • Training support: The company shall support training and development with internal SJP administrative training programmes and also the CII financial planning diploma as required.
