Reed Finance Lancaster & Cumbria are very pleased to be working in partnership with an impressive company based in Kendal to recruit for the newly created Business Analyst role.

This role will be a key position reporting directly into the Finance Director and will be responsible for business process improvement in relation to systems and technical solutions within the financial & operational aspects of the business, acting as a bridge between operations & finance.

This role is key to providing financial oversight and analysis in tandem with the operational and strategic growth and mindset of the company.

Tasks & responsibilities will include:

  • Collaboration with operational management to develop annual budgets and track results to budget on a monthly basis.
  • Focusing on performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand the return on investment of current and proposed projects.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities to recommend to senior management and assisting with implementation.
  • Management and adjustment of forecasts throughout the year.
  • Join forces with operational management to produce presentation material for executive management.
  • Delivering timely, accurate data and reports to management as requested to proactively influence sound business decisions.
  • Formulating management reports including KPI’s and variance analysis with explanations.
  • Creating trend analysis and suggesting improvements to management when appropriate to affiliate costs with revenue.
  • Prepares instructions, and specifications and creating flowcharts.

The ideal candidate will display the following:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent.
  • Wide-ranging experience with MS Excel (queries, macros, advanced pivot tables).
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and think analytically.
  • Capacity to understand, analyze and summarize financial data in a clear concise manner to both financial and operational management.
  • Ability to meet tight, multiple deadlines and handle various projects and tasks.
  • Ability to rapidly summarize and communicate ideas and concepts.
