Graduate Engineer / Project Engineer
West Sussex
Up to £25,000 + Pension

Project Engineer / Mechanical Graduate / Engineer with some experience/ Mechanical  Engineer / (West Sussex) 

Well established market leader, specialising in the bespoke manufacture of anti –terror perimeter security systems and associated products have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

Specialist manufacturer of a range of Gates and Barrier systems used by prestigious MOD sites, international airports, power stations, industrial sites, NHS, Local authorities, commercial sites, etc…. A bespoke manufacturer, able to tailor each product to its individual specification and environment and tested to the highest standards. Job Role

Based at the manufacturing site, you will be responsible for managing the repairs and refurbishment projects and works across a number of prestigious client sites. Excellent career progression available. 

This role will be working as part of the Repairs Team, managing the repairs of equipment installed across the country.
You will need to produce, chase and action quotes. The role will involve liaising with engineers and clients, organising repairs to provide a quick and efficient service.
The role will also include being the point of contact for some of their largest customers and dealing with all their needs. This may include site visits for review meetings and large projects.
 
Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Able to demonstrate practical basic engineering knowledge gained either through industrial placement, degree or project work.
  • Able to use and understanding of Windows based packages, email, internet etc.
  • Able to communicate in a clear, concise, logical manner both verbally and written.
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and have an excellent memory
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues under time pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to converse at all levels and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Ability to think commercially as well as technically
  • A full driving license (car) would be an advantage.

You will be treated as an individual not a cog in a large machine and you’ll have as much responsibility as you can handle right from the start. Manufacturing on site you will gain experience quickly in all aspects of products and everything that supports the processes. In a fast pace environment you’ll be running your own projects, making site visits and meeting customers – anyone from the security guard to the director.

This role does include taking part in a call out rota.

Candidate Profile

A Mechanical / or similar Engineering based Degree and or background ideal

Experience of working in an Engineering manufacturing company with some lead responsibilty ideal.

Some previous supervisory experience ideal

Training will be provided in areas in weaker experieced / skills for the right candidate.
