Senior Backend Developer -Java / GoLang - Durham / Remote - up to £80K DOE

A leading fintech are currently looking for multiple Senior Backend Developers to join their team. We are looking for Senior Developers who are skilled in either Java, or Golang, or both!

Within this role you will be responsible for the development of pioneering applications. They have very little legacy code and are always striving to improve.

The backend is built with microservice architecture, they do also use some traditional enterprise software in our back-end engineering, but this has mainly been broken down into microservices. Each one of their microservices runs on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), which is supported by some innovative automated pipelines developed by an award-winning DevOps team allowing engineers to build and deploy through the stack.

The teams are multi-disciplined, well-structured, and set up to work in Agile Scrum or Kanban. They encourage collaboration and creative thinking when building products and services.

This role can be either 100% remote, fully office based, or hybrid model (HO is Durham).

Skills:

  • Experience working with at least one of the Python, Golang, Java
  • Modern frameworks like Spring, Django or similar.
  • SQL & NoSQL
  • A good understanding of APIs and API structures including REST APIs
  • Exposure to and an understanding of a standard project lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge microservice frameworks
  • The ability to understand business problems and think through technical solutions
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban etc)
  • Knowledge of message queues, Kafka, React & Mulesoft(middleware) - highly desirable.

Salary for this role is up to £80K DOE and benefits include:
