New contract job for an experienced Network Test Engineer ideally with DOCSIS knowledge.
Experienced Network Test Engineer required to help major telecommunications client test features for set top boxes and CPE - in a lab environment.
Our client is one of the UK's leading names in the telecommunications sector with sites based around the UK. This role will require you to work at their lab in Winnersh for a minimum of 3 days per week.
What you will be doing
Testing features for set top boxes and CPE - in a lab environment (covid safe). Working on low level network design ratifications. Pan European format created - this is generic, so needs to be tested that regional/UK specific features are working correctly. The team you will be a part of do 30% of the testing updates - the rest is done by a vendor partner. Capture the information and updates in documentation form. This is a mixture of testing, type approval work and design work - not a pure design role. You need to be able to communicate at senior level with vendors.
What they are looking for
A Network Engineer with experience of conducting Type Approval work. Demonstrable strong technical knowledge of project and operational requirements within a broadband service provider environment. A demonstrable knowledge of IP Networking, HFC Networks, Euro DOCSIS, Cable Modems/Routers, Wireless Technology and Home Networking. Experience of Testing Firmware. Experience of working on and making changes to Low Level Design documentation. Ideally you will be a subject matter expert/authority in DOCSIS and IP Network technologies and can act as the technical point of expertise.
What you'll get in return
Flexible working options available. The role has been determined as Inside IR35 and is offered on a 3 month initial contract with scope for extension. The day rate will be a maximum of £495 per day via an approved Umbrella company.
