One of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in England is currently looking to recruit a niche role of MIS Systems Officer who will support across all national sites. This role will require 1 - 2 days per week in an Academy. The remaining days will be working from home or office, as preferred.

Ok, so over to you! The MIS Systems Officer:

The role of MIS Systems Officer will be to assist with the management and administration of t Management Information System used across all Academies. The post holder will assist in the configuration of the system at a trust level and will act as an internal point of escalation from academies with MIS related queries

Let’s take a look at a snippet of the duties within this post:

  • To hold and maintain an excellent level of knowledge of the MIS Platform (Currently Bromcom Cloud MIS).
  • To hold and maintain knowledge of the regulatory and legislative framework under which academies operate to ensure that the MIS can be effectively used to support compliance.
  • To work with other IT engineering teams and project managers to assist in the delivery of projects relating / impacting the use of the MIS system.
  • To be responsible for the implementation of changes and updates to the MIS platform across the whole group in accordance with IT Change Management Processes
  • To implement elements of national configuration to aid the efficiency and effectiveness of MIS across the trust. For; example, to assist and provide support in the creation and distribution of standardised mark sheets, the creation and distribution of standardised reporting etc.
  • To assist and support all Incidents and Problems relating to the MIS across all academies, ensuring all Academies receive the expected level of service in accordance with SLA and escalating to the MIS Manager where appropriate.
  • To liaise with third party organisations to ensure the effective integration of their products and services with the MIS.
  • To oversee the effectiveness and utilisation of the support provided by the MIS supplier including implementation of identified training needs.
  • To act as the first point of contact for all MIS service delivery performance issues.
  • To manage all MIS escalations to resolution.

The successful applicant will have experience of administration of MIS systems such as Capita SIMS or Bromcom. working within the education sector eg a school, local authority, multi-academy trust or third party IT provider. You will have had responsibility / Ownership of an aspect of MIS system configuration and experience of managing user accounts and permissions within an IT system/software application

If you have any of the following qualifications/ experience this would be highly beneficial:

  • Degree Educated or equivalent industry qualifications.
  • ITIL Foundation or other Service Management Qualification
  • Prince2 or Similar Project Management Qualification
  • Microsoft Office Qualification
  • Experience working in either a Service Desk or ITIL environment
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft PowerBi
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft SQL
