Job Description

Job title: Management Accountant

Location: Hythe, Kent

Contract type: Permanent

Our Client:

Our client, a private and growing healthcare company with a number of care homes in Kent, is looking for a Management Accountant to join their office in Hythe.

Role:

Supports the finance function by contributing to the management and financial reporting for the group.

Key Deliverables

Produce group month end and year end journals
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts including group P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, KPIs and variance analysis
Provide accurate and sound management reporting and ad-hoc analysis to assist with key decision making
Contribute to the annual budgeting process and subsequent re-forecasts.
Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
Deputise for the Group Financial Controller in their absence
Monthly group Dividend cash payments
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all homes
Prepare or oversee daily bank reconciliations for all homes
Reconcile Equals Card statements for all homes
Assist in the annual group audit
Provide cover for group transactional processing activities including billing, purchase ledger, payroll and credit control.
Any other tasks as may be specified by the Group Financial Controller/directors from time to time.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Previous finance experience is essential
Qualified or Part qualified and working towards recognised Accounting Qualification.
Strong communication skills
Focus on excellence and customer service
Well-developed systems skills including use of Excel and Sage software
Positive and collegiate approach

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with the ability to work flexibly and demonstrate tact and diplomacy. They will show a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure are essential as well as the ability to show commercial acumen and seek opportunities to maximise revenue and return on capital.
