Claims Handler - Belfast, Northern Ireland - Highly Competitive Salary - Full Time, Permanent

Crawford is the largest publicly listed independent provider of claims management and outsourcing solutions globally with nearly 9,000 employees in over 70 countries around the world. Providing industry-leading services spanning across loss adjusting, surveying, subsidence, environmental, cyber risk, legal and more.

The Opportunity:

Our excellent Claims Handler opportunities are ideal to kick start your career with a well-established and highly successful Global organisation. We also offer career development with full exam and study support, promotional opportunities and a fully inclusive culture.

What You Will Be Doing - Claims Handler:

You will be supporting our valued clients in proactively handling and settling a mixed caseload of property claims, varying in value. These can vary in complexity so it’s essential that you put yourself in the shoes of the policy holder, appreciate each situation differently by investigating each claim with tact and a calm manner, establishing the facts, policy details and work towards a resolution.

Liaising with colleagues within different business areas, such as Casualty, Major & Complex Loss, Contractor Connections and Legal depending upon the nature of the claim, strong attention to detail is essential to ensure each step of the claims process is as thorough as possible, collating and recording all necessary statements and information as required.

You will need to remove hurdles in the process if required, ensuring you get to the root cause of issues, taking responsibility for resolving problems and collating all necessary details to ensure swift settlement whenever possible.

About You:

We’re looking for talent: problem solvers who relish challenges and provide solutions. Although not essential, previous claims handling experience is an advantage, but we’d like to hear from you if you have a similar commercial background. Additionally, we’d like you to have:

  • A keen interest in learning client servicing skills
  • Good negotiation skills - for arranging appointments, alternative accommodation and explaining information
  • Strong relationship building skills - engaging with all parties, providing support and help when it’s most needed
  • Understanding of what matters to the customer and put this first
  • Good IT skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ideally hold an insurance qualification, but we’ll support and fund you to gain this if not

  • Highly competitive salary
  • 25 days holiday
  • Additional day off for your Birthday
  • Company pension
  • Dental plan
  • Exam support and career progression
  • Employee assistance programme plus other excellent benefits you’d expect from a leading global organisation

Due to the nature of our work, this role is subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check.

Crawford & Company actively supports Equal Opportunities and embraces Diversity and Inclusion. So what are you waiting for? Apply today, we’re looking forward to your application.
