Join De Montfort University in Leicester as International Partner Relations Officer. DMU is an ambitious, globally minded and culturally rich university with a strong commitment to the public good. It strives to maintain a stimulating and inclusive environment that champions difference and celebrates success. The University is a vibrant, multicultural hub of learning, creativity and innovation that was named the first-ever University of the Year for Social Inclusion by The Times Good University Guide. DMU is home to more than 25,000 students and 2,700 staff.
The International Directorate is an energetic and dynamic part of the university, which leads on two distinct functions: Translational Education (TNE) delivered by the Global Partnerships Unit, and maximising student recruitment opportunities, led by the International Office. Our international operations also include strategic progression partnerships, developing and maintaining lasting relationships with our partners. Both functions strengthen the university’s global influence, and further the diversity of our institution, whilst contributing to the revenue generation. We focus on raising our international profile and global connectedness, and we continue to be a much-desired choice for our international students. The time to join the International Directorate and contribute to our ambitious goals has never been better.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in De Montfort University's International Directorate’s International Partner Relations Unit (IPRU). This permanent role will strengthen the team by providing an attentive level of customer service to our partners and recruitment agents, whilst remaining diplomatic and professional at all times.
Reporting to and working closely with the Operations and Compliance Manager, the role combines the internal focus on developing and maintaining systems and processes to adhere to the university’s quality and compliance standards, in areas such as finance, procurement and legal, with the external focus of managing a number of relationships with agents and partners to enhance international student recruitment opportunities. The strong emphasis of this role is developing, adhering to and championing university’s governance processes, which includes taking part in internal and external meetings with an ability to produce written information and present briefings and updates. The role will also be responsible for developing and following complex operational processes, in a continuous manner whilst contributing to the overall international recruitment strategy, as part of the team.
With excellent customer service and networking skills, the ideal candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with the internal and external stakeholders at different levels. Contributing to a vibrant International Directorate’s sales function, you will have an impeccable attention to detail in all outputs produced, working with data, as well as writing reports, process documents and taking notes in meetings. You will be proactive and work independently whilst building a strong team culture. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and well-organised administrative officer, comfortable in a busy environment and well-versed in managing competing priorities and deadlines seamlessly. You will be comfortable in following internal policies and guidelines, and sector specific requirements within operations and activities involving vendor due diligence, procurement to payment (P2P) processes and contract management. The experience in developing systems and processes to improve reliability and performance of service delivery and ensuring compliance with the university’s internal systems is essential to this role.
Whilst experience of working in a global marketplace is desirable, it is not essential. The knowledge of international higher education landscape is an advantage. The requirement to travel nationally and internationally, though is essential, is infrequent.
You will benefit from access to the Local Government Pension scheme; 22 days annual leave plus concessionary days and Bank Holidays; career progression; employee perks that include up to 8.5 per cent off grocery shopping at Sainsbury's, Tesco, ASDA, Waitrose and M&S or at least up to 10% off package holidays through travel club; NUS discount card; free and confidential access to the Employee Assistance confidential Helpline who provide support on a range of lifestyle issues; discounted gym membership; free library memberships and the cycle to work scheme.
CV's submitted to the job board will not be accepted, all candidates must be required to complete the DMU application form via the careers site.
