Job Description

As the Health, Safety and Environmental Officer, you’ll be responsible for providing professional guidance to all functions of the business on operational HS&E activities ensuring alignment with Group. We will also be looking for you to deliver HS&E training to meet with our local learning and development plans, always working towards supporting keeping people healthy and safe.

A key element of your role is to maintain HS&E systems, ensuring they adhere to all relevant HS&E legislation and agreed internal standards. You’ll be accountable for ensuring the planning and completion of all site Risk Assessments and safe systems of work to group standards. You’ll be required to maintain the sites management processes, including the investigation of all lost time incidents and management of the incident recording system, to meet with statutory requirements.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that all emergency evacuation procedures are recorded, followed and practiced to adhere with group standards. You will also need to report against any injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences to a site and group level.

What we’re looking for

You will already have experience of working within the field of Health and Safety with up to date knowledge of current HS&E legislation, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Ideally you will hold a National / Professional qualification in Health, Safety and Environment or related field, preferably at degree level.

You’ll be a naturally organised person with a good eye for detail. You’ll have a logical and analytical approach to working through queries with the confidence to adapt quickly to challenges while remaining calm and in control.
