Job Description

Badenoch + Clark are working in conjunction with a local Sussex based organisation to recruit a HR Manager.

In this role you will be leading the People Team in delivering an excellent Human Resources service to managers and colleagues. As People Manager you will be central to maintaining a colleague focused culture.

You will report directly to the People Director and develop strong working relationships with our L&D Manager and Payroll Manager. You will be responsible for a team of eight HR colleagues whose responsibilities include employee relations, recruitment, administration, our people system and projects.

With the People Director you will develop and deliver People strategies, processes and metrics that are appropriate for the Company culture as well as support the business goals and growth plans

The ideal candidate will be someone who balances business objectives with an understanding of the impact changes and processes can have upon individual colleagues. A pragmatic and commercially focussed approach is needed, but just as important is empathy, common sense and interpersonal skills.

You will be able to demonstrate your ability to manage immediate and ad hoc issues, such as employee relations cases and recruitment, with achieving long-term goals and projects. You will need to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities in all that you do.

The successful candidate will:

*Ensure the People Business Partners to provide an effective service to their Business areas which is both responsive and proactive
*Have overall accountability for providing an efficient, timely and customer focused HR Admin service to the business, working closely with the People Administration Officer
*Be able to understand, articulate and communicate a vision how the HR system may develop to support the department and the business
*Develop, implement and maintain Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation; that represents best practice and provide effective, fair and consistent management of colleagues throughout the organisation
*Work with the Health & Safety Team to ensure that the welfare and health of colleagues remains central to all changes and decisions
*Ensure an effective end to end recruitment service is provided that is compliant and timely, and considers the needs of our internal customers and the applicants, working with the Recruitment Team
*Work with the People Director and other key stakeholders on key HR annual processes of pay review and performance reviews
*Work with the People Director to prepare and implement an annual Business Plan that supports the overall strategic aim and objective of the business
*Lead significant and complex change projects, working with a project team including the People Director, People Projects & System Manager or Business Partners as appropriate
*Willingness to be involved in any activity/task within the department, as is needed.
