Analog / RF Physical Design & Layout Engineer

We have an exciting, brand new opportunity for an experienced Analog Physical Design & Layout Engineer (or Senior Engineer) with experience of RF PCB's to join a highly innovative and fast growing fabless semiconductor start-up in Cambridge. This company really does work at the cutting edge of technology developing revolutionary devices which will simplify the design and development of next generation smartphones and wearables across 3G to 6G bands.

Responsibilities of the Physical Design / Layout Engineer include, but not limited to, the circuit layout for each system component and ensuring they conform to the physical design rules required by the RF Design Engineers, manufacturing partners, V&V and creating manufacturing and assembly CAD drawings. The work is technically challenging, financially rewarding (especially the company share scheme!)

Requirements of RF PCB Design & Layout Engineer :

  • A 1st or 2.1 degree in a related subject, Electronics Engineering, Communication Systems, Physics or similar
  • Demonstrable experience in layout and design of RF PCBs, ideally 5 years min. industrial experience
  • Experience in layout database completion and documentation for manufacture and assembly
  • Familiarity with multi-layer photolithographic etch and plate manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso analogue RF IC layout tools.
  • Some experience with 3D mechanical CAD drawing packages (e.g. AutoCad or SolidWorks) would be an advantage but not essential.
