Who are we looking for?
You’re a strong professional electrical engineer who takes a real pride in their work. Most of your career has been spent working on a variety of commercial sites and you don’t move role very often. You’ve completed electrical fault finding and/or installations, repairs and maintenance. You’re comfortable with early starts and late finishes. You like to earn the extra OT when its available and appreciate a service role comes with an element of on-call work (this is very reasonable on-call please see below).
Clock watchers and those who must be home by a certain time each night please don’t apply!! It swings in roundabouts sometimes you will get an early dart sometimes you will need to ride to the rescue. There is plenty of OT and this role will suit an engineer who realy wants the extra work.
We can’t offer is progression as the structure is flat and engineers don’t leave that often. The work can involve carrying parts on to site or getting under machines where it can be a little wet and messy. So, if you want to work in an ultra-clean environment this won’t be for you.
That said this is a company who truly look after their engineers. They pay for you to take the wife or husband out for a Christmas meal, and if you don’t take any sickness throughout the year you will earn an extra week’s salary. You van is for personal use if you choose, and they will even pay for your personal fuel.
They are a global company with a family feel. They are honest considerate and appreciative of the engineers who work with them.
Technically you will progress, and the salary/benefits and lifestyle will suit the right engineer very well. We are looing for engineers who want to do twenty or thirty years with the same company as that’s what a lot of the workforce have done.
Most of the team when they are not working are normally fixing cars or motorbikes or in a man cave somewhere taking things apart and putting them back together.
What technical skills do I need?
You will come from an electrical background! Although you won’t be connecting the machines to the mains there is lots of wiring and control panel fault finding and PPM. If you don’t have electrical experience it will take to long to train. As a minimum we are looking for electrical apprenticeships, C&G 2365, 17 or 18th editions.
The machines have lots of mechanical parts and there is also some plumbing involved. If you have these skills as well great if not, we can train.
