The N Kitchen is right at the heart of our Nursery, serving up fresh and nutritious food for our nursery children during the week. We want to create an uplifting, one-of-a-kind experience for all of our customers - both big and small - and are looking for a friendly, forward-thinking kitchen assistant who can support our chef to create & deliver a menu that keeps everybody happy & healthy.Who we are looking for:We're looking for creative people, who are able to introduce children to a wide range of culinary styles, celebrating London's diversity, to join us as a Nursery Kitchen Assistant in our 89 place nursery in West Hampstead.You can expect to: Support our chef to cook fresh and inspiring food for our children Create fun and nutritional snacks and dishes for all children attending the nursery, including those with specific dietary requirements (3 snacks/meals a day) Spread and promote healthy messaging and ideas around food Deliver best-in-class customer service and maintain a positive rapport with children and parents Ensure that all policies and procedures are in compliance with Environmental Health & Ofsted guidelines and that all relevant records are kept in line with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Standards Keep the kitchen in a clean and safe environment adhering to internal and external requirements. Support Chef with washing up and deep cleaning of the kitchen. In the absence of the Chef, be responsible for the safe running of the kitchenWhat you will need to bring with you: Passion and positive approach (always see the glass half full)- Driven by a 'make it happen' attitude A love for customer service (making people happy) Conscious practices within food and cooking including recycling, creating as little food waste as possible Ability to work quickly and effectively during busy service times Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition and ability to work to the nursery budget for each child Previous experience in cooking to a commercial level / or a nursery kitchen Ideally, Food Hygiene NVQ Level 2 qualifiedWhat we can offer you: £19-21k annual salary Working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday) Up to 32 days holiday a year (including bank holidays) to start (rises with length of service) Personal development fund of £250 per year Annual clothing allowance of £100 (no uniform)- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay for new parents 10 days full sick pay, 2 days leave for dependents leave and 5 days compassionate leave Childcare discount of 10%There's more...
